How to play Ball2D

Learn browser football: move, kick, join a team and start your first Ball2D match.

A small pitch. A team game.

Ball2D is a free multiplayer football game for desktop browsers. Move your player, make contact with the ball and kick it toward the opposing goal. Positioning, short passes and defending space matter as much as chasing the ball.

Open the room directory to find a public room, create your own room for friends, or choose Practice for a local session with a bot. No account registration or game installation is required. JavaScript and WebAssembly must be enabled.

Controls

Move with W, A, S, D or the arrow keys. Kick with Space or X when the ball is within reach. Click the pitch if the game is not receiving keyboard input. Typing in chat or another input field should not move your player.

Use the Teams control to open the team panel. Room administrators assign players to red, blue or spectators and control match starts, pauses and stops. Spectators watch without controlling a player on the pitch.

Your first match

Join or create a room, choose a nickname and wait for an administrator to place you on a team. The administrator starts the match and sets score and time limits. A room being listed does not mean a match has already started.

Start with practice to learn ball contact and passing. In multiplayer, leave space between teammates and keep a player behind the ball. When a connection feels delayed, open the connection guide before changing gameplay settings.
